Blue Hour Society
AN E3 DETROIT CUSTOM GROUP

AS GOOD TO WATCH AS IT IS TO LISTEN TO

Blue Hour Society is a Detroit jazz group available for corporate events, weddings, galas and private parties across Metro Detroit, Northern Michigan and Toledo. The group performs as a trio, quartet, quintet or larger depending on the event, and can be booked on its own, alongside a DJ, or with a full E3 Detroit band later in the evening. Co-founded and musically directed by Dale Grisa, Blue Hour Society is part of the E3 Detroit roster, a live entertainment company operating in Detroit since 1995.
WHY BLUE HOUR
The blue hour is the stretch right after sunset when the sky goes deep blue and the city lights come up. Best hour of the day. That’s what we built the group around.
THE SOUND
Start with a driving, infectious groove, closer to an acoustic EDM set than a jazz standard. Hand it to career jazz musicians who can actually improvise over it. What comes out is something you won’t hear from anyone else. People move to it and stop and listen to it at the same time.
We can also play it straight. If you want standards during dinner and something with more push afterward, the group shifts without changing players.
